Join Me at This Sacred Threshold

Dear Friends,

In this past week, I’ve been sensing significant shifts within myself and in the larger field of life we share. This moment has ushered in the Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse, carrying its quickened energy of transformation for the first time in sixty years. We’ve also moved through an annular lunar eclipse, while Muslims around the world enter the holy month of Ramadan with fasting and prayer, and Christians begin the reflective season of Lent. Across traditions and cultures, there is a palpable invitation toward renewal, humility, and alignment of inner self and external action.

During times like these, I’m often asked why I chose the word “sacred” for the portals.

For clarity, I do not use “sacred” in a religious sense. I use it to point toward a way of being that moves beyond the ego’s need to control. It suggests deep respect. Care. Reverence for life as it is unfolding.

Specifically, within the portals:

• Sacred names a way of seeing and experiencing life—looking beneath the surface and acknowledging the invisible currents infused through all that is visible.
• It speaks to coming home to ourselves, remembering who we are with curiosity, dignity, and tenderness.
• Ultimately, “sacred” draws our attention to both the reality and the mystery of being here–on this Earth, at this particular moment in history—and invites us into a truthful, compassionate relationship with ourselves and the wider world.

In a time of accelerated change, this quality of sacred attention may be one of the most stabilizing forces available to us.
